An old, broken-down building in Bly, Oregon, became the subject of Shea McKelvie’s vision. She pictured a renovated building where people could come and enjoy some peace and quiet. She envisioned an airbnb.
McKelvie hired Millen Construction of Bly, Oregon to take on this renovation and make her dream come true. “They essentially built a brand new building over the top of the old building,” McKelvie said. She worked on the interior herself to complete this snug retreat.
Originally a repair shop for the logging equipment used in an earlier era, the building is adjacent to the old OC&E Woods line logging railroad, which has been transformed into Oregon’s longest trail park. With access to the trail, this airbnb is a welcoming retreat from the crowds for bike riders, jeep enthusiasts, and anyone who enjoys a bit of rustic charm with modern comfort.
