Thanks to the versatility of a post-frame building, Darren B. and his family not only have a spacious garage but also a great-looking building that includes a kitchen, living area, and an upper level for homeschooling.
Darren B. initially had his sights set on a four-car garage. But after meeting with builder Ryan Hartman (more on him below), Darren and his family realized this could also be a great opportunity for a building with added features like a kitchen, a living area, and an upper level schoolhouse.
This project exemplifies how the interior of a post-frame build can be used in multiple ways. It also shows how the exterior can be put to use for people’s enjoyment. That large porch overhang (pictured above) creates an attractive sheltered area that’s perfect for outdoor gatherings.
Darren chose to go with Ryan Hartman and his company, Hartman Statewide Buildings, an authorized Wick Builder. “He’d done a really nice job on the buildings that we had seen. The quality was there,” says Darren. Ryan helped Darren and his family realize the possibilities for their project with helpful drawings. Darren says, “He showed us what everything would look like down to the detail. And that’s what we needed.”
Darren says he and his family are “very, very happy” with the final result. And considering the quality of a Wick building, they’ll likely feel that way for many years to come.
