Yes a Barndo Can Be Made of Metal

Can you have a barndo that isn’t made of wood? Well there isn’t a specific definition of barndo so yes is the answer. Companies like Quicken Steel will sell a barndo package with a steel frame. So while most barndos are made with post-frame construction, you can have a metal building that can be considered a barndo.

Here is a metal-framed barndo made from a Quicken Steel package. The primary building is a 36x60x10 foot building with a 6/12 roof pitch resulting in a center apex of 19 feet.

This barndominium has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, a laundry room, and the typical open kitchen and living room (great room) concept. There is attic storage, which helps when there is no basement.

The front covered porch is 6 feet and the back covered porch is 10 feet.

The metal barndo was built in Georgia by NeSmith Steel Buildings.
