Hixwood designer Aaron Weaver got all the details right when he designed this Wisconsin barndo, a combination home and hobby shop. The vaulted ceiling and open-concept interior make for light and airy living quarters with plenty of space for family and entertaining.

A Northern Wisconsin barndo, it was important to make this home and hobby shop energy efficient. During the frigid winter months, the R21 insulation in the walls and R50 insulation above the ceiling will keep the cold where it belongs — outside.

Hixwood is a prominent producer of post-frame buildings including barndos. It provided most of the supplies for this barndominium.
